In episode 4 of our Air in Fuel Series, Brad and Josh explain how the air trapped in your diesel fuel can negatively affect horsepower, fuel efficiency, and regens (on DPF-equipped trucks). Entrained air impacts injection timing, which reduces power and efficiency while increasing emissions. In some cases, the timing changes caused by entrained air can cause damage and eventual failure of expensive engine components. By eliminating the air found in diesel, a FASS Fuel System restores injection timing, increases power output, optimizes fuel efficiency, and reduces emissions.
