Jakes 2017 ram 2500 mega cab truck

After joining the FASS team, Jake FINALLY realized his diesel dreams by purchasing his 2006 Ram 2500. It was the perfect rig to modify—powered by the mighty 5.9 liter Cummins and backed by a G56 manual transmission.

After a couple of years, he was ready for a slightly more comfortable cruiser—something he could comfortably fit dogs and kids in. The truck of choice was the 2017 Ram 2500 Mega Cab you see here.

Gone is the G56 manual and 5.9 Cummins—replaced by a 68RFE automatic and a 2nd-Gen swapped 6.7 liter Cummins.

While the 68RFE doesn’t offer the same legendary reliability as the G56, Jake wanted a truck that anyone could hop in and drive.

But don’t worry, he’s got an 800hp-rated built 68 ready to go when the stock unit inevitably melts.

In just a few short months, Jake (with the help of some FASS teammates) has turned “Dori” into a potent street machine—modifications include:

And chances are, he’s far from done. There’s almost certainly some 100% over injectors and a bigger CP3 in this truck’s future.

Jake says his long-term goal is to reliably make 700whp, while keeping the truck a street-friendly daily driver. If that’s not enough, Jake has a 2,500+ watt subwoofer setup going in soon as well.

Overkill is underrated, right?

As a part of our marketing team, Jake gets to travel the country to various diesel events, so don’t be surprised if you see this truck in your hometown. If you do, be sure to ask him when he’s finally going to put it on a dyno!
